Common issues and the fastest way to diagnose them.
Troubleshooting
Start with the simplest explanation first: check the capture history, sync status, and watch health before assuming data loss.
If a capture is missing
- Look at the recent capture history in Settings > Advanced or the Record tab.
- Check whether the item is marked
Needs retryor is still pending transcription or sync. - Use the retry action if it is available, then confirm that your sync account or export configuration is still correct.
If the watch is behind
- Open the watch health view.
- Retry the handoff.
- Confirm the iPhone is online and can receive the deferred sync.
If audio is unavailable
When audio retention is off or the file has been cleaned up, playback shows that reason clearly instead of acting broken.
What the help tools show
- Every capture ingested by the phone, even if it has not been transcribed yet.
- Transcription status and failure context.
- A user-readable retry-needed state when a capture is saved locally but needs another processing pass.
- Background sync backlog.
- Watch connectivity health.
- A non-sensitive event log for support work.
