iPhone Lock-Screen Setup

This guide covers the current iPhone quick-entry path for lock screen.

Add the widget

1. Enter lock-screen customization on iPhone.
2. Add a widget in a supported lock-screen slot.
3. Choose Sundown iOS Widgets.
4. Pick Record now.

What to do

• Add the Sundown widget to a supported lock-screen slot.
• Tap Record now when you want to start capture without opening the app first.
• Use Stop & Save to keep the note or Cancel to discard it.

What you see

• Sundown opens directly into the Record tab quick-capture flow.
• Recording starts immediately after the deep link launches the app.
• The lock-screen widget does not take you to a separate setup screen.

What it does

• Tapping the widget opens Sundown through a deep link.
• Sundown routes directly into the quick-capture path on the Record tab.
• Recording starts immediately.

Stop or cancel

• Use Stop & Save to keep the recording and process it normally.
• Use Cancel to discard it completely.

Notes

• App Shortcuts and App Intents can provide additional quick-entry behavior, but the widget is the explicit lock-screen surface shipped in the Apple build.
