Sundown is operated by Rapydly Ltd. in New Zealand, commonly referred to simply as Rapydly. Sundown can be used fully offline without Sundown Cloud. This page explains what is centralized only when you choose cloud backup, support email, AI services, or site analytics.

Local first, cloud optional

Sundown can be used fully offline. If you want to keep everything on one device, you can do that without Sundown Cloud. The collection language on this page applies when you choose cloud backup, AI services, support email, or site analytics.

What gets centralized

If you turn on Sundown Cloud for cross-device sync, we centralize the minimum information needed to back up, sync, and restore your captures, transcripts, generated views, and account state across devices.

Capture, sync, and AI

Sundown saves captures on your device first. If you use Sundown Cloud or another sync path, transcripts and generated views can move through our service providers. AI features may process the content needed for the request, such as selected transcript excerpts, so Sundown can answer questions or generate summaries.

Analytics and diagnostics

The public site uses Google Analytics, and the site also loads Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights. These tools may use cookies or similar technologies and are limited to site and performance measurement. We do not intentionally include note text, transcript text, audio contents, secrets, or raw provider payloads in analytics or diagnostics.

Cloud-backed data

Account details such as email address and subscription or entitlement status.
Device and app details such as operating system, device identifiers, and app version.
User content such as recordings, transcripts, notes, summaries, and Ask AI conversations.
Support messages you send to us by email.
Site analytics, cookies, and basic usage or performance data.

If you never turn on cloud backup and never contact us by email, most of the collection language on this page will not apply to your offline use of the app.

Sharing and transfers

Apple, for App Store subscriptions and related purchase handling.
Google, for Google Analytics and any selected Google-powered services.
Firebase and Firestore, for Sundown Cloud account and transcript sync.
GitHub, if you use GitHub-based export or sync paths.
Vercel, for site analytics and performance monitoring.
OpenAI or Gemini, if you choose those AI provider options.

Our service providers may store or process data in data centers around the world, so your data may be transferred to and processed outside your country.

Retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account is active or while you ask us to keep it.
Because Sundown is still in early development, there is no self-service deletion route yet.
If you ask us to delete your data, email privacy support and we will handle the request manually.
We may keep limited records when the law, fraud prevention, billing, or security requires it.

Your choices

You can choose Sundown Cloud or on-device-only use, turn audio retention on or off in the app, and choose whether to use AI features.

Children, changes, and legal contact

Sundown is intended for people who can manage their own account and consent to app services in their region. It is not designed for children.

We may update this policy as the product changes. If we do, we will post the updated version on this page.
